Pat Miner was announced as the assistant coach for the SBU baseball team back in January of 2025 and just concluded his first season.

Miner joins the Bearcats after being an assistant coach for pitching at Arkansas Tech University for the past two seasons. During his tenure there he had 2 All-American pitchers, both in 2024. The team was top 30 Nationally in the statistical categories of ERA (28th) and H/9 Innings (15th). Miner also helped the team set school records in shutouts, strikeouts, and fewest walks during the 2024 season.

"The biggest thing for me in coming to SBU is the facilities and the opportunity for growth in the program. That's what drew me to SBU and the people here are amazing. I am excited to work with these guys and get the season going" Miner said.

As a player, he spent his college years at Arkansas Tech University setting the single season record holder in strikeouts at 102. While there, he was a 2x unanimous First-Team All-Conference pitcher and 2x All-Region selection. After college, he went on to play three years of professional baseball in the MLB Draft League, Pioneer Baseball League, and Frontier Baseball League.

Miner graduated from Arkansas Tech with his bachelors in business management and marketing and a bachelors in business education. Later, Miner went on to earn his Master's of Business Administration.
