Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Southwest Baptist University men's swimming team put together an impressive team performance at the Sam Freas Invite, finishing third overall with 637.5 points. The Bearcats finished just 100 and 50 points behind two teams that are top-25 in the Nation.

Leading the way for SBU was Davide Lacriola, who played a part in three first-place finishes. Lacriola swept the breaststroke events, winning both the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard breaststroke. He also joined Tyler Sharp, Clint Kopp and Logan Meixner to capture first place in the 200-yard medley relay.

The Bearcats found success throughout the lineup as Tyler Sharp added another victory in the 100-yard butterfly. SBU packed five swimmers into the top seven of that event, with Clint Kopp taking third, Vincent Hagar fourth, Aaron Stephenson fifth and Aidan Hahn seventh.

Several other Bearcats turned in top-three performances. Logan Meixner finished second in the 50-yard freestyle and third in the 100-yard freestyle, while Kopp tied for third in the 50 free. Sheppard West added a runner-up finish in the 500-yard freestyle, with Ian McCorkle taking third in the 200-yard butterfly.

SBU closed out the meet with another strong relay performance as Sharp, Meixner, Kopp and Hunter Yin combined for second place in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

With a third-place team finish, multiple event victories and strong depth across the meet, the Bearcats showed they can compete alongside some of the top programs in the country. They will return in less than a weeks' time at Truman State on Friday, October 2^nd.
