TULSA, Okla. – The Southwest Baptist University men's golf team continued its strong return to competition with a seventh-place finish at the NSU Men's Golf Classic, hosted by Northeastern State at Page Belcher Golf Course.

Competing in just their second tournament since the program returned following a seven-year absence, the Bearcats finished the three-round event at +18. SBU opened the tournament with an even-par team round before posting rounds of +8 and +10 over the final two rounds.

JJ Grimm led the Bearcats individually, finishing tied for 25th at +4. Grimm highlighted his tournament with a 2-under 69 in the second round.

Aiden Page finished just one stroke behind Grimm at +5, tying for 29th after rounds of 75, 71 and 72. Wills House tied for 31st at +6, highlighted by an outstanding opening-round 67 (-4). House's round was the lowest single-round score by a Bearcat during the tournament.

Kloden Brown finished tied for 36th at +7, including an opening-round 69 (-2), while Blake Strong rounded out the SBU lineup at +14. Charlie Hoyt competed individually and finished at +24.

The Bearcats competed against a strong NCAA Division II field, with Northwestern Oklahoma State and host Northeastern State finishing tied atop the team leaderboard at 10-under, followed by Southern Arkansas at even par.

After opening the season with a fourth-place showing at the Arch Cup, SBU has now put together another solid team performance as the Bearcats continue building momentum in their next competition at the Holiday Inn Express Invitational hosted by Missouri Western. This will be a week from now on September 28th and 29th in St. Joseph, Missouri.
