Joplin, Mo. – SBU women's cross country competed against some top tier competition Saturday morning taking 4^th place out of 24^th teams with 121 total points.
 
That 4^th place finish was led by junior Natalie Gerdes who nearly took the individual title with a 3^rd place finish. Her time of 17:20.45 in the 5k was better than 267 other competitors. Another Bearcat runner in Kiersten Potter had a strong finish taking 10^th place with a time of 18:05.59.
 
A little further down the line but still scoring for SBU was freshman Audrey Richter taking 34^th with a time of 18:58.48. Shortly behind her was senior Riley Arnold in 39^th place. Rounding out the scoring for SBU was sophomore Gracie Troester in 51^st with a time of 19:25.86.
 
The team will look to continue to build in less than a week when they compete at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Missouri on Friday September 25^th.
