Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU men's track and field team completed another strong day of the GLVC Championships putting them in 2^nd place overall at 47.67 points just .23 points behind Lewis in first place.
 
SBU senior Tyler Hart highlighted the day earning his first ever GLVC title. After being behind in the early goings of the shot put, Hart was able to toss his way back to a title. He threw for a mark of 16.47-meters earning the Bearcats 10 points. Adding eight more points to the Bearcats total was Andrew Rhoades who took second in the Decathlon breaking a school record in the process. He finished the event with four top-three finishes scoring 6411 points setting a new SBU record.
 
Junior Angel Dickerson started the day out with a 3^rd place finish in the long jump earning six points. In the same event, Andrew Jacobs added four more taking 5^th place. More points for SBU came in the final two events of the day. Afton Hopkins and Ellis Joslin each tied for second place in the pole vault, improving on their combined 3^rd place finish at indoor Championship. The brotherly pair of Gavin and Landon Duchscherer added a total of nine points to SBU's total in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Gavin took 3^rd place earning a medal while also setting a new school record with a mark of 8:58.23. Landon finished shortly behind him in 6^th place.
 
Numerous Bearcats were able to qualify for finals events that will take place on Saturday. Angel Dickerson led the way in the 100-meter dash advancing to the finals. Marcus Jones and James Hunter snuck their way into the finals in the 400-meter dash. Jones also advanced in the 200-meter dash while Cade Nold made it to the final day in the 800-meter run.
 
SBU men's track and field will look to finish the GLVC Championships out strong on Saturday with field events starting at 9:00 a.m. and track events beginning at 12:00 p.m.
