Baldwin, Kan. – The SBU women's track and field team split up Saturday as a majority of the team competed at the ZK Invite at Baker University, but a few others went to the Drake Relays and Cougar Invitational.
At the Drake relays, All-American
Savannah Manthey went up against the Championship Division which consisted of all athletes from power five schools. She took 3
rd place in the event beating out athletes from Nebraska, Mizzou, and Army.
The Bearcat mid distance runners compiled an impressive 800-meter race at the Baker Invite taking three of the top-4 spots. Sophomore
Kadence Wallace led the way taking 1
st place with a time of 2:18.56.
Kristin Probst finished just slightly behind her in 2
nd place and junior
Paige Franks followed up with a 4
th place finish
Southwest Baptist now prepares for one of the marquee events of the year, the GLVC track and field Championship. The Bearcats are honored to be able to host the event this year in Bolivar, Missouri at Plaster Stadium. It will be a three day event from Thursday, April 30
th to Saturday, May 2
