Bolivar, Mo. - SBU men's volleyball concluded their inaugural season Friday and Saturday with two losses to the Quincy Hawks. Both games were done in three sets as the Bearcats ended the year with an 11-12 overall record and 3-11 GLVC record.

It was quite the inaugural season for the SBU men's volleyball team starting out strong with 11 wins and ending in 6th place in the GLVC standings after being predicted to finish in 8th. Consistent improvement on the team helped them go on a seven game win streak at one point in the season.

Numerous Bearcats helped set the standard for SBU men's volleyball such as Jeremiah Crecilius,
Silas Riggins,
Evan Strahlendorf,
Lucas Phelan,
Nelson Castellanos,
Keahi Kaneakua, and
Donel Sengele each playing more than 60 sets. Numerous new records were set throughout the season. Phelan holds the record in kills (258), points (293.0), and kills per set (3.63). Kaneakua holds the record in assists (609) while Strahlendorf holds the record in serving aces (33). Castellanos holds the record in digs (175) and digs per set (2.46). Leading the way in total blocks was Riggins with 62 and Crecelius holds the solo blocks record at 13.

After a strong inaugural season consisting of nearly all freshmen, the Bearcats will get to bounce back for the 2027 season. They did get to honor their one senior in
Brice Knoll on Friday evening for his time spent building this new program.
