Springfield, Mo. – SBU women's track and field team competed down at the Mo. State Invitational Friday completing numerous top finishes.
 
Stephanique Dean had herself a day being a part of two national marks and one school record. She started the day in the 4x100-meter relay as she joined Sierra Wallace, Brianna Lord, and Laura Dixon to hit a National mark and 3^rd place finish. Their time of 45.54 is currently 11^th in Division II. Dean continued that speed into the individual 100-meter dash where she ran a time of 11.30 seconds. That not only is the 4^th best time in NCAA Division II but also an SBU school record.
 
The National marks continued throughout the sprint and mid distance events from Laura Dixon and Emily Young. Dixon took 1^st place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.48, narrowly hitting a provisional time. A little later in the day, senior Emily Young notched herself a National mark in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:11.06, taking 2^nd in the event.
 
The Bearcats got a little taste for what conference might look like in the javelin event. As SBU took the top four spots at this meet. Junior Savannah Manthey led the way with 49.60, hitting a National mark. Though that mark wasn't her farthest of the season, it would have been good for 7^th best in Division II. Following her in the event was Alexis Turner (2^nd), Kelsey Rhoades (3^rd), and Hope Woodall (4^th).
 
These Bearcats will all return to action in just two weeks' time as they take on the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The track and field championships will take place from Thursday, April 30^th to Saturday, May 2^nd in Bolivar, Missouri.
