Box Score 3 Richardson, Tx. – SBU men's tennis completed an exciting weekend winning two of their three matches while down in Texas. Those two victories move the Bearcats record to 3-6 on the season.
Game 1 on Friday vs Hawaii Pacific: Loss, 2-4
The first match of the weekend was the only one the Bearcats faltered, unable to come up with the victory. It started out well as they collected the doubles point with wins from the #1 and #3 spot.

Federico Riolo down their opponents 6-1. The only other point came from senior
Alejandro Beneyto Sanchez who dominated his opponent at the #1 spot 6-2, 6-2.
Game 2 on Friday vs Texas Permian Basin: Win, 4-3
It was a thrilling first victory of the weekend for Southwest Baptist as they fell behind early 0-3. In doubles,
Alejandro Beneyto Sanchez and
Juani Morresi took a quick victory at the #2 spot 6-0, but the other two spots went the way of the Falcons. Momentum continued early on for the Falcons as they garnered the first two singles points from
Bojan Radoman and
Romain Ramuz.
From there the Bearcats battled back winning in two sets for the next three points.
Federico Riolo claimed the #4 spot 6-2, 6-1 followed by
Juani Morresi winning at the #5 spot 6-2, 6-3. It was a closer battle at the #6 spot as
Oliver Kocanovic narrowly escaped his opponent 6-3, 6-4. The game was clinched by the only ranked member of the Bearcat tennis team in
Alejandro Beneyto Sanchez winning in three sets 4-6, 6-4, & 6-3.
Game 3 on Sunday vs UT Dallas: Win, 5-0
The final game of the week was the easiest for the Bearcats cruising to an easy victory. This started at the doubles as Beneyto continued his perfect week, not losing a single match. He and Morresi won at the #2 spot 6-2, clinching the doubles point after Ramuz and Riolo won 6-0 at the #3 spot. Beneyto didn't drop a single set at the #1 spot going 6-0 in two sets at the top spot. Riolo clinched his point at the #4 spot 6-1 and 6-2. Moressi (6-0, 6-1) and Kocanovic (6-0, 6-0) continued that domination at the #5 and #6 spots respectively, finishing the week out for SBU.
After three games in three days, the Bearcats will get a break competing in only two in the next two weeks. First they will travel to Maryville, Missouri on Friday, March 13
th against Northwest Missouri State at 12:00 p.m.
