Box Score Edmond, Okla. – SBU men's tennis opened their season Saturday morning against one of the toughest opponents they will play all season in University of Texas at Tyler. The Patriots are #7 in the Nation and put the Bearcats down 0-7.
It was a difficult doubles competition as the #1 and #3 spot each fell 2-6 for SBU.
Juani Morresi and
Alejandro Beneyto Sanchez put their opponents to the test in the #3 spot falling 4-6.
Each Bearcat faced a formidable opponent in singles matches all falling in sets. Freshman
Oliver Kocanovic put his opponent to the biggest test of the day forcing a tie breaker in the second set of the #5 spot but ultimately fell 3-7. Morresi put made his opponent work for it in the #3 spot winning five games in his match.
Next up for Southwest Baptist is Ouachita Baptist a week from Saturday on February 14
th. This game will also take place in Edmond, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m.
