Bolivar, Mo. — This Saturday, the Southwest Baptist University women's basketball team celebrated Senior Day after taking the court against McKendree University in their home finale.
SBU finished the game with 34 rebounds, 13 assists, and 15 forced turnovers, keeping the game within reach into the fourth quarter. However, SBU fell short and ended the season with a loss against the McKendree Bearcats 73-80, concluding with a record of 8-18 (5-15 GLVC).
Junior
Eviyon Richardson led SBU on the score sheet with nine total rebounds and a season high 25 points. Grad student
Natalia Crooke contributed 14 points, including two three-pointers, and Junior
Ida Lusadisu N'Gonda added 11 points and five rebounds in the effort.
After the game concluded the Bearcats got to honor their three seniors in an emotional moment. Those include student assistant Esther Flerchinger, guard
Zaakyaa Young, and guard
Natalia Crooke.
