Bolivar, Mo. — Southwest Baptist University's Men's Basketball is finishing out their season this week at the Meyer Wellness Center with games against Maryville University this Thursday, February 26th at 7:30, and a season finisher against McKendree University Saturday at 3:00. The SBU Bearcats hope to win out the rest of the season to reach a .500 record.
SBU going into these final two games has plenty of momentum to turn the tide and get that win out. This past week against Missouri S&T, three separate players scored well within the teens. Against Drury as well, Junior
Zac Reedus reached 20, while freshman
Leo Gayman also hit 10. The team also recorded 10 plus assists in both games. This offensive production is an important piece for the team finishing the season strong.
While the University of Maryville currently holds a few recent wins over SBU, the Bearcats are 4-1 against the Saints at home. They Saints are also in down season with a 3-24 overall record. In recent history this matchup has been high scoring, so it will be an exciting matchup to witness.
This Saturday our men's basketball will close out the season against the conference's other purple Bearcats. The McKendree Bearcats currently have National recognition, receiving votes in the latest poll. Having already clinched their spot in the conference tournament, they are looking to move further up the standings. To stay up to date with basketball stats and all other news week, visit
