Bolivar, Mo. – SBU tennis returns to action for some long-awaited home matches, either in Bolivar or Springfield this week. The Bearcat men will play two matches this week whereas the women will just play one.
With just two games played so far this season, the men's tennis team will look to enter the win column starting on Wednesday against NAIA school, University of St. Mary's. This game will take place at the John A. Bryant Tennis Center at 12 p.m. Then Friday, February 20
th, the men will head down to Cooper Tennis Complex to take on Emporia State at 10:00 a.m. SBU has won all 14 matches between these two teams in the past 18 years.
At the same time as the men, SBU women's tennis will take on Emporia State on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Cooper Tennis Complex. The women are coming off their first win of the season, defeating Ouachita Baptist in a thrilling 4-3 victory. Now they battle former MIAA foe for the first time since 2016. SBU holds a 13-2 record against them since 2008, winning the last 10.
