Council Bluffs, Iowa – The Southwest Baptist University women's swimming team put together a strong performance at the Reiver Triangular, capturing four individual event victories and several top-three finishes throughout the meet.

Leading the way for the Bearcats were Grace Simon and Clara Cunningham, who each captured two individual victories. Simon dominated the distance freestyle events, winning both the 500-yard and 1000-yard freestyle. Cunningham continued her impressive season by sweeping the backstroke events, taking first in both the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke.

The Bearcats showed their depth in the distance events as Sofia Gonzalez finished second in the 1000-yard freestyle, while Abigail Peugh took fourth. Simon also added a runner-up finish in the 200-yard butterfly, giving her three top-two finishes on the day.

Kamryn Cooper added a pair of second-place performances in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly, while Addison Woody took third in the 200 free. Kayden Cooper also found success in the breaststroke events, finishing second in the 100-yard and third in the 200-yard breaststroke.

SBU's relay teams added to the strong showing as Cunningham, Kayden Cooper, Kamryn Cooper and Briley Larcom combined for second place in the 200-yard medley relay. The Bearcats also earned third in the 400-yard freestyle relay behind the team of Kamryn Cooper, Simon, Larcom and Cunningham.

With four event victories and numerous podium finishes, the Bearcats continued to show their strength across multiple events as they build momentum as they host their first ever program home meet next Friday in the Meyer Center against Ouachita Baptist.
