Bolivar, Mo. – Being home for the first time in 2026, the SBU women's basketball team gave their fans something to cheer about with a 68-51 victory over Lincoln University. That moved them to 5-7 (2-4 GLVC) on the season.
 
Early into the contest, teams traded baskets each team leading twice before the Bearcats took over. Trailing by one, SBU went on a 12-0 run for a 16-5 lead, with four different Bearcats scoring. Continuous big stops and baskets helped Southwest Baptist maintain that lead and head into the locker room up 34-21.
 
The third quarter remained much of the same as the Blue Tigers made numerous attempts to cut into the lead but weren't able to power past the home squad. Late into the third quarter, SBU made a big push extending their lead to 24 after 30 minutes of play. They led by as much as 26 in the game and controlled much of the contest for their second GLVC victory of the season.
 
For the first time this season Nahia Esnaola Agaen led the team in scoring with 16 points off an incredible 66% shooting. Within that efficiency she recorded her second double-double of the season with a team high 11 rebounds. Trailing her in scoring was Tinu Fakunle at 13 points and Natalia Crooke at 11 points. The team dominated the glass out rebounding the Blue Tigers 51-33.
 
Now the Bearcats will host the only undefeated team left in GLVC play of the University of Missouri Tritons. This game will take place in the Meyer Center on Saturday, January 10^th at 1:00 p.m.
