Pittsburgh, Kan. — The Bearcat men and women track and field team will return back to Kansas this Saturday, January 31st, for the Pitt State Invitational. After a strong showing in the same place last weekend, SBU will face off against 18 different teams ranging from JUCO to Division 1.
 
Last week, Senior Stephanique Dean got a second place finish in the 60-meter dash and a national mark, alongside a top three finish from graduate student Lily Simmons. The top finishes from the girls was rounded out by Gracie Troester who placed fourth in the mile, and a Women's 4x400 meter relay that finished fourth as well.,
 
On the Men's side Angel Dickerson took first place with a national mark after breaking his own school record in the long jump. Freshman Morgan Nichols also broke a school record in the weight throw with a ninth place finish. Just like the women, the men rounded out their top performances of the day in the distance and relays with a fifth place in the 3000 by Gavin Duchsherer and a 4x400 meter relay finishing seventh.

This Saturday marks the halfway point of the indoor season for the Bearcats as they have a long day full of tough competition. Field events will start at Pitt State at 10:00am and Track will start promptly after at 11:00am.
