Columbia, Mo. - The SBU women's track team continued their Fall semester success with strong races at the ShowMe Showdown Friday. Three Bearcats hit National qualifying marks to begin their new year.
 
Graduate student Lily Simmons returned to strong fashion hitting a National mark in the high jump. She hit a mark of 1.67-meters taking 2nd place at the meet. Little later in the day, All-American Laura Dixon dashed her way to victory in the 400-meter dash. Her time of 56.17 seconds was a National mark, personal best, and beat out 15 other Division I runners.
 
Fellow All-American Stephanique Dean continued her strong start with a 2nd place finish in the 200-meter dash. Her time of 24.35 secured her second National mark of the season where she currently ranks 5th in the Nation. 
 
Long distance runner, Natalie Gerdes brought a strong cross country season into this 2026 indoor track season with a 3rd place finish in the 3,000-meter run. Her time of 10:05.42 was a personal best that ranks 5th in SBU history and beat out 25 Division I runners in this race.
 
The team will return to action next Friday, January 23rd, at the Rumble in the Jungle D2 Invitational which will take place at Pitt St.
