Bolivar, MO- After a commendable 1-1 start to the season, the SBU women's volleyball team is ready to continue their momentum on their home court this weekend. This year, the women's volleyball team puts forward hard work on and off the court — through practices, team bonding, and more.
 
Last week, they played 2 double headers for a total of 4 matches: 

• SBU vs. St. Edward's University (W 3-0)
• SBU vs. Dallas Baptist University (L 0-3)
• SBU vs. Minnesota State University - Moorhead (L 1-3)
• SBU vs. East Central University (W 3-0) 

 
"After last weekend [the Dallas Baptist tournament], it is evident what we need to work on this week to succeed this next weekend," freshman Chloe Chafins said hopefully.
 
Looking ahead, the Bearcats are set to host the SBU Invitational, a two-day tournament featuring several key matches. Following their first tournament, the team is focused on applying the core values of trust, resilience, and accountability as they begin their home stand this weekend. They play the following matches this weekend:

• SBU vs. Harding University on Friday, September 12th, at 2 p.m.
• SBU vs. Union University on Friday, September 12th at 6:30 p.m.
• SBU vs. Missouri Southern on Saturday, September 13th at 9:30 a.m. 
• SBU vs. Christian Brothers University on Saturday, September 13th at 2 p.m.
