Bolivar, Mo. — After over a month of practices and with one intrasquad competition under their belts, Southwest Baptist University's men's and women's swim teams gear up for the first meet of their inaugural season this Saturday.
This past weekend, swimmers from both teams competed in the SBU Fall Instrasquad meet, which was held at their home pool. The Bearcats, split into Team Purple and Team Black, gave their all in competition against their teammates. With 205 collective points, Team Purple claimed the victory while Team Black followed with 174 points.
This fall, the SBU swim program consists primarily of freshmen joined by sophomores
Ian McCorkle and
Brogan Meier on the men's team. Coach Hagar eagerly anticipates the moment when his team hits the water to showcase the products of their hard work and resilience. The Bearcats travel to Edmond, Okla. for the Oklahoma Christian Invite on Saturday, September 27 where they dive straight into their inaugural season.
