Bolivar, Mo. — After claiming their first win of the season this past weekend, SBU's Football team is hoping to put another victory under their belt on Saturday, September 20th.
Last week, SBU went up against the Roosevelt Lakers. The Bearcats held the lead and brought home a huge victory, winning 40 to 34. This victory gave first year head coach
Paul Hansen his first win as a Bearcat. Though it was a team effort to leave Chicago with the win, senior
Kamau Ransom's stat line stood out, as he collected three receiving touchdowns with 127 total yards. Ransom is currently second in the Nation in receiving touchdowns on the season with five in just his two games played.
This week, the SBU Bearcats go up against the William Jewell Cardinals as they begin conference play for the season. The Bearcats will look to get revenge on the Cardinals after a last second field goal block handed William Jewell the win. This was their first win over the Bearcats in five years, with SBU winning the prior five games. This game is sure to have lots of excitement and emotion behind it.
This game, taking place at William Jewell's home turf in Liberty, Missouri, is scheduled for Saturday, September 20th with the kickoff starting at 6 p.m. For a recap of past games, go to
