SBU Men's Soccer Looks Ahead to More Conference Action

Bolivar, Mo. - SBU Men's Soccer looks to bounce back this week after going 1-2 over the past stretch of games. On Monday, Sept. 8, the Bearcats took their first loss of the season in Searcy, Ark., falling 0-2 to Harding University. SBU then made a road trip to St. Louis for two matches, going 1-1 with a 2-1 win over the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy and a 1-3 loss to Maryville University in their Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) season opener.

Scoring wise the Bearcats are getting contributions from across the board, with eight different players scoring a combined 12 goals. Three of those Bearcats have notched two goals on the season including Giovanni Cascone, Myles Paniagua, and Piotr Rapczynski. Senior Iker Lorenzo leads the team in assists with three on the year. 

The Bearcats will continue GLVC action for the rest of the season, beginning this week with a pair of road games. SBU will first face the Lincoln University of Missouri in Jefferson City, Mo. on Friday before returning to St. Louis on Sunday to take on the University of Missouri–St. Louis. The Bearcats then return to their home pitch on Friday, Sept. 26, to host McKendree University at 1:30 p.m.
