St. Louis, Mo. - The SBU Men's Soccer team went on the road and defeated the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis Wednesday evening 2-1. This moves the Bearcats to a confident 3-1 start on the season, the best start in program history, heading into GLVC play.

The Bearcats started the game off aggressively establishing control generating the game's first six shots in the first 20 minutes of play, with four being on goal. SBU was finally able to capitalize on created opportunities in the '39 minute with a goal from
Piotr Rapczynski, his second of the season. The Bearcats picked up right where they left off out of halftime with a goal from
Myles Paniagua, his second of the young season as well. SBU allowed a goal towards the end of regulation but held off for the win. The Bearcats finished with 24 shots to UHSP's 3.

27 different Bearcats saw playing time in this game with only the SBU goalie of Jan-Henry Schäfer and forward Piotr Rapczysnki playing the full 90. Starters
Hugo Lopes and Edgar Piña Alvarez each tagged along 47 minutes played and 2 shots on goal. Senior
Giovanni Cascone led all defenders for the Bearcats with 70 minutes played.

The SBU Soccer Team will be going back to St. Louis to kick off conference play at Maryville. Game time is Sunday Sept. 14th at 2:30pm.
