Romeoville, Ill. – The SBU women's track and field team concluded the GLVC Championships taking 3
rd place with 107 points.
The day got started in spectacular fashion for the Bearcats as they swept the podium of the javelin. Sophomore
Savannah Manthey took 1
st place with a mark of 46.77 meters, for her first GLVC title. Alexis O'Farrell also had a podium in her first GLVC Championship with a 2
nd place finish. Throwing a personal record and rounding out the sweep was
Hope Woodall finishing in 3
rd and a mark of 40.03 meters. Adding to the point total and a big personal record was
Kelsey Crabtree finishing in 6
th place, giving SBU 27 points in the first event of the day.
The next gold to go the Bearcats way came from the three-time All-American
Collinique Farrington. She took gold in the 400-meter dash smashing the former GLVC record by over half a second. Later she went on to claim another 1
st place finish in the 200-meter dash holding her title. Those top two finishes led her to being named the GLVC Track Athlete of the Year for the 4
th straight Championship.
In the final event of the day, Farrington joined Reagan Thomure,
Brianna Lord, and
Emily Young to take second place in the 4x400-meter relay adding another 8 points. The other relay team on the day of 4x100-meter relay took 4
th place. That comprised of
Sierra Wallace, Lord, Thomure, and
Laura Dixon.
There were numerous Bearcats to contributed four points to the Bearcats total taking 5
th place.
Kaily Wake in the high jump,
Jaynae Pinder in both 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles, and
Laura Dixon in 100-meter and 200-meter dash.

Corey McElhaney said "I am so proud of how much work our teams have put in and the way we performed this weekend but more importantly I am proud of their integrity and the way they compete for Christ!"
For a majority of the team this meet concludes the 2025 season, however there are some that will qualify for the NCAA Championships. Those include
Collinique Farrington,
Savannah Manthey, Alexis O'Farrell,
Stephanique Dean,
Brianna Lord, and
Laura Dixon. That meet will take place on May 22
nd through the 24
th in Pueblo, Colorado.
