Box Score Springfield, Ill. – The SBU women's tennis team concluded their 2025 season in the semifinals of the GLVC Championship, following to the Rockhurst Hawks. They fell by a final score of 1-4, moving to 11-8 on the season.
 
The doubles match began to go the Bearcats way as the #1 spot Paula Ballesteros and Defne Ursan took an early lead. Despite that their match remained unfinished due to the other two spots going the Hawks way. At #2, Leticia Luiz and Polina Paunova fell 4-6 and at #3, Maria Clara Zotti and Giselle Garcia fell 3-6.
 
Heading to singles action, the freshman Clara Zotti make quick work of her opponent in the #6 spot winning (6-1, 6-3), picking up the only point for the Bearcats. Shortly after that, the Hawks went on a run winning three straight to secure the match. Ursan fell at the #2 spot in consecutive sets (4-6, 4-6). Paunova struggled to get in a groove as she fell in the #3 spot (2-6, 1-6). Luiz battled hard with her opponent in the #4 spot but also was not able to pick up a set, as the Hawks clinched the win (3-6, 4-6).
