Ozark, Mo. - The SBU Beach Volleyball team finished up their last regular season matches Saturday when they played Missouri State and Park University. The results of the games did not go in the Bearcats favor, falling in both moving to 8-12 on the season.
Game 1: Missouri State (L- 0-5)
The #1 team, Carlee Lill and Lexie Schauffler, started off strong winning the first set but lost the second. This added to the suspense of the match with a third though it was then taken by the bears (21-19, 14-21, 11-15). At the #2 spot, Reagan Hoerning and Chandler Lawrence, fought hard against the bears they were unable to take a set (9-21, 13-21). Next was the #3 team, Ryan Russell and Addi Fanning, while they were unable to secure a set they still competed closely with the bears going several points past 21 in their first set (24-26, 10-21). Team #4, Kynzie Lilly and Rory Stanley, laid it all out on the sand, walked away with a 0-2 result (12-21, 10-21). In the 5th and final spot, Logan Drennan and Madison Satterly, ended the match with a 0-2 result (14-21, 9-21).
Game 2: Park University (L, 2-3) – No scoring sheet
The Bearcats rounded out their regular season today but still have a shot to collect the most wins in program history at the AVCA Small College Championships. These will take place April 17th-19th in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
