Bolivar, Mo. - The SBU Softball team wrapped up their season with a doubleheader loss to the Drury Panthers. This concludes their 2025 season at 20-27 (12-15 GLVC), narrowly missing out on the conference tournament. The Bearcats also honored 11 seniors for their dedication and hard work for the program.

Game 1 : L, 7-11

The Bearcats started off slow, going down by as many as seven runs. In the bottom of the fourth,
Hayley Sites batted in
Lexi Detwiler and
Margo Frossard for the Bearcats first score of the game. SBU allowed a couple more runs until a rally in the bottom of the 6
th brought them within two, for a potential comeback victory. A successful
Kaitlyn Ragsdale bunt scored
Lexi Detwiler, followed up by a
Kate McConville 2-RBI double. The double also put McConville solely in the lead for career doubles in SBU history.
Angie Micone kept the Bearcats rolling with an RBI, scoring McConville.
Audrey Rahlmann concluded the team's scoring with a single to bring in Micone.

Kylee Dewey started on the mound for the Bearcats before freshman
Abby Leer came in. Leer recorded two strikeouts in a little over four innings, allowing only one earned run.
Taylor Howard and
Emma Kreisel also spent time on the mound recording a strikeout each.

In the season finale, the Bearcats were in a defensive slugfest.
Shalie Wooden got the start and went the whole seven. She only allowed six hits and two runs in the game, while tallying three strikeouts.The Bearcats made good contact with the ball all contest but good fielding held SBU to two hits.

The Bearcats softball team will look to improve on a historically good season as they won 20 games for the first time since 2017.
