Box Score Liberty, Mo. – The SBU women's tennis team clinched their spot in the GLVC tournament Saturday with a dominant win over William Jewell. Sweeping the Cardinals they move to 10-7 (3-2 GLVC) on the season.
 
The doubles point went easily to the Bearcats as they won all three matches. Defne Ursan and Paula Ballesteros easily swept the #1 spot 6-0. Ally Bowser and Leticia Luiz kept that momentum rolling at the #3 spot winning 6-0. Maria Clara Zotti and Giselle Garcia had a little tougher match up but still won 6-3 at the #2 spot.
 
The singles went the same way for the Bearcats as they continued to control the match. The closest came at the #1 spot where Ballesteros defeated her opponent in three sets (3-6, 6-1, 6-3). Ursan controlled all the way in the #2 spot winning in two sets (6-3, 6-1). Luiz achieved similar success at the #3 spot winning the first set 6-2 then won the second 6-1. Garcia only allowed her opponent to win one point as she easily won 6-0, 6-1. The final two spots were complete sweeps as Clara Zotti and Bowser won their matches 6-0 at the #5 and #6 spot respectively.
 
The Bearcats secured the #3 spot in the West and will play the #2 seed in the East in the first round of the GLVC tournament. This game will be against McKendree University on Friday May 2^nd in Springfield, Illinois.
