Bolivar, Mo. – SBU football kicker Logan Turner and softball second baseman Margo Frossard win the 2025 Rex Brown Award, as announced at the 3^rd annual Purple Carpet Premiere T.
 
This annual award is the highest honor given by the SBU athletics department. Each year it is awarded to one female and one male senior student-athlete who has strong Christian character, academic achievement, leadership qualities, and has impacted their sport. The award is named in honor of Dr. Rex Brown, a former longtime SBU Athletic Director and SBU Baseball coach. The award had more meaning to it this year, as Dr. Rex Brown passed away this past December. His dedication and passion shaped the future of SBU athletics to where it is today. SBU athletics is honored to continue to live out his memory through this award.
 
The male rex brown award winner for 2025 was earned by football kicker Logan Turner. Over his four years as a Bearcat, he has dominated on the field capturing three SBU records, four All-American Athletic Awards, GLVC Special Teams Player of the Year, and an NCAA statistical champion. Off the field he continued to excel in the classroom with a 3.85 cumulative GPA as a Biochemistry/Pre-Med major. He also earned a 1^st-Team Academic All-American Award and GLVC Scholar Athlete of the Year. Between exceeding expectations on and off the field, his caring heart found time to serve in community projects such as Big Cat/Little Cat, Bolivar's Dancing with the Stars, and several clean up projects. He also is the current president of "Dangerous Men," an on-campus organization with a discipleship focus, leading young men in their faith journey while they attend college. After college, he plans to go to medical school after he marries his bride-to-be Caitlyn this summer.
 
On the female side, it was won by four-year starter on the softball team, Margo Frossard. She holds the SBU career record in doubles and runs scored, as well the single season record for on-base percentage and doubles. She will also finish her career second in school history in stolen bases, walks, and total bases. All while earning two GLVC All-Conference Awards. In the classroom, Frossard maintains a 4.0 GPA while majoring in exercise science. She is a leader with Fellowship of Christian Athletes on campus while leading the baseball/softball bible study. Head softball coach Tripp Swisher had this to say about Frossard "She has received athletic awards and accolades but has ultimately stored up eternal rewards in heaven through her service and ministry as a Bearcat." Frossard finishes up her final weekend as a Bearcat with the chance of leading her team to their first ever GLVC tournament appearance. After college, she plans to get her Doctor of Physical Therapy at University of Missouri, after getting married this May.
 
Both Logan Turner and Margo Frossard already stamped their legacies as a Bearcat heading into graduation in just few short weeks. And now they have joined the esteemed list of Rex Brown award winners.
