Box Score Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU men's tennis team fell to the Quincy Hawks 2-5 Monday afternoon. That moves them to 8-8 (1-1 GLVC) on the season.
The doubles point went the way of the Hawks after they picked up the #1 and #2 spot victories, despite the Bearcats winning at the three spot.
Marcio Silva and Juan Morresi had a tightly contested match in the #1 spot falling 5-7. The #2 spot was even closer as
Alejandro Beneyto Sanchez and
Bojan Radoman fell 6-7.
Alejandro Bravo and
Federico Riolo finished doubles on a high note with a 6-3 victory.
That momentum did not carry over to the singles matches as Beneyto Sanchez fell in the #1 spot in a tightly contested battle (2-6, 6-7). Radoman also battled his opponent in the #2 spot but was unable to come away with victory as the Hawks claimed their third point (3-6, 3-6). Bravo claimed the first point for Southwest Baptist taking down his opponent at the #3 spot in two sets (7-5, 6-4). The next Bearcat point came at the #5 spot as Riolo easily took down his opponent in two dominant sets (6-1, 6-2). SBU weren't able to claim another point as Morresi fell in the #4 spot (6-2, 5-7, 0-1) and
Alex Crawford fell at #6 (2-6, 2-6).
The Bearcats will return to action this coming Friday, April 25
th, at Rockhurst University. The game will take place at 11:00am in Kansas City, Missouri.
