Gulf Shores, Ala. - The Southwest Baptist Beach Volleyball team took to the sand again Saturday morning first defeating McKendree University in the quarterfinals of the bronze bracket. Shortly after they fell to Emmanuel University in the semifinals wrapping up the DII Small College Championship. These were their last games of the season and the Bearcats fought hard to end the season on a high note.
 
Game 1: McKendree University (W: 3-2)
To start of the morning the #1 team, Carlee Lill and Lexi Schauffler, played three sets splitting the first two then coming up clutch in the final set winning in extra points (21-16, 20-22, 18-16). Another competitive match of the morning was the #2 team, Reagan Hoerning and Chandler Lawrence, these women fought hard but were unable to secure a set, (18-21, 11-21). The #3 team, Ryan Russell and Addison Fanning, refused to accept defeat after losing the first set and coming back to take the second, however despite their efforts the McKendree Bearcats secured the third and final set of the match, (19-21, 21-9, 10-15). The #4 team, Kynzie Lilly and Rory Stanley, would not take losing as an answer. After dropping the first set of their match they came back to take the next two and secured the victory for their match, (22-24, 21-19, 15-12). Logan Drennan and Madison Satterly, the #5 team, left no question regarding who would win their match securing the win within two sets leaving McKendree in the dust, (21-12, 21-6).
 
Game 2: Emmanuel University (L: 0-3)
The second match of the day against Emmanuel University did not go the Bearcats way falling in three sets. The #1 team, Lill and Schauffler, competed closely with the Lions especially with the last set going to 23 points, however they were unable to secure the victory with a 0-2 result, (12-21, 21-23). The #3 team, Russell and Fanning, played two sets each with the same result showing that these women were closely matched, (13-21, 13-21). Lastly the #4 team played, Kynzie Lilly and Rory Stanley, despite the competitive spirit of these girls the results for this matchup was 0-2 (13-21, 14-21).
 
Southwest Baptist beach volleyball finished the season with 10 wins for the most in their program history, continually showing improvement.
