Belton, TX.- The SBU Beach Volleyball Team traveled to Texas competing in three games Thursday afternoon, going 1-2 on the day moving to 4-8 on the season.

Game 1 vs University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB) L: 0-5
For the first game of the day the Bearcats fell to the Crusaders 0-5. Competing as the #1 team,
Chandler Lawrence and Lexi Schauffler fell to their opponents (17-21, 11-21). Next the #2 team for the Bearcats,
Reagan Hoerning and
Carlee Lill fell in a tight two set match (19-21, 19-21). The next game was also a struggle for the Bearcats as the #3 team with
Ryan Russell and
Addi Fanning lost in a tough two sets (15-21, 17-21).
Madison Satterly and Logan Drenan fell to their opponents as the #4 team (13-21, 8-21). Lastly the #5 team for SBU lost in two sets with a close first set with
Kynzie Lilly and
Rory Stanley (17-21, 8-21).

Game 2 vs Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) L: 1-5
The Bearcats battled in their next game but ended up losing to Javelinas 1-5. The #1 team for this game was Lawrence and Hoerning falling in two sets (15-21, 13-21). The next game for the #2 team with Schauffler and Lill was a challenging one (9-21, 9-21). The #3 and #4 teams for the Bearcats also lost in tough two set matches, with Russell and Fanning in the #3 (12-21, 16-21) and Lilly and Stanley in the #4 (15-21, 12-21). However, the Bearcats were victorious with Drenan and Satterly as the #5 team, winning a very close third set in extra points (21-16, 13-21, 17-15).

Game 3 vs East Texas Baptist University (ETBU) W:5-0
The Bearcats ended their day on a high note sweeping the Tigers 5-0. Lawrence and Hoerning defeated their opponents in two close sets (22-20, 21-18). SBU's #2, #3, and #4 teams all easily conquered the Tigers in their games in two sets each. Lill and Schauffler competed for the #2 team winning effortlessly (21-14, 21-11). For the #3 team Russell and Fanning were successful in their match (21-10, 21-13) and the #4 team, Lilly and Stanley, were also easily successful (21-12, 21-14). Lastly, Drenan and Satterly continued on the winning streak as they won their three-set game (22-20, 16-21, 15-10).

The Bearcats will stay another day in Texas to play one more game on Friday, March 7 at 12:00 pm against Huntingdon College.
