Collinique Farrington and
Stephanique Dean, the Bearcat sprinting duo, will compete together once again, this time at the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships. Based on their times ran throughout the season, they have each qualified for the Indoor Track and Field Championships to take place in Indianapolis, Indiana March 13
th through the 15
th.
For the second straight season, and third time overall, junior
Collinique Farrington finds herself in the Indoor National Championships, this time competing in two events. In the 200-meter dash, she had a time of 23.67 which has her ranked 4
th in Division II headed to Nationals. Last season, Farrington took 5
th place at the Indoor National Championship in this event. Her second event to qualify in is the 400-meter dash, the first time she has made it to Nationals in this event. With her time of 53.47, she is ranked 5
th just slightly behind her 200. The 3x GLVC track athlete of the year, will look to add a National Championship to her already spectacular Bearcat career.
Qualifying for her first indoor National Championship is junior
Stephanique Dean. She qualified for the 200-meter dash event after running 23.80 seconds at the GLVC Championship this past weekend. That time earned her 2
nd place, just behind her teammate and a 7
th ranking overall heading into Nationals. Dean will bring some Nationals experience into this race as she competed at the 2024 outdoor National Championship as a member of the SBU 4x400-meter relay team.
The duo of Farrington and Dean have helped lead the SBU women's track and field team to a #21 ranking in the Nation. As well, the Bearcats are the 3
rd ranked team and the 4
th ranked team in the 200-meter and 400-meter events respectively.
