Bolivar, MO. - The Southwest Baptist Men's Track & Field team finished the Bearcat Invite with a 1st place finish with 120.50 points in their lone home meet of the season, beating out four other GLVC schools.
Â
Parker Love had the best day for all Bearcats earning two 1
st place finishes. He first hit a National qualifying mark in the 100-meter dash with a 10.39. Later he took 1
st in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.83. That would have been a school record, except he ran with a wind disparity not counting the time towards records or National marks.
Â
In that same event other Bearcats showed up taking 3
rd (
Makaylin Forbes), 4
th (
Dalvin Adams), 5
th (
Reid Harrison), 6
th (
Jordan Noel), and 8
th (
Chase Thomas-Plummer). Forbes also took a 3
rd place finish in the 400-meter clocking a time of 48.38.A couple of second place finishes came by
Devon McMillin in the 800m (1.54.54), and the 4x100 team (41.85) comprised of Noel, Harrison, Thomas-Plummer, and
Dalvin Adams.
When asked about the weekend this is what Head Coach
Corey McElhaney had to say "I would say Blessed!! I want to give a shout out to the best janitors and grounds crew anyone could ask for. Great help from other teams on campus and to our administration and sports media team trying to make our team feel special at their only one home meet. I cannot say enough about my coaches and athletes. They work so hard and give God the glory! What else could a head coach ask for! We had some amazing marks and numerous personal bests but at the end of the day we could not do any of this without God and His grace!"Â
Â
The Bearcats will be back in action next Saturday at Pittsburg State.
