Indianapolis, Ind. – SBU women's track and field members
Collinique Farrington and
Stephanique Dean completed the NCAA National Championships Saturday. Both of them made the podium and led the Bearcats to being the 14
th best team in the Nation, beating out all other GLVC teams.
Farrington continued to stamp her name as a star in SBU Athletics by making SBU history on the track. She started the day with her best finish at a National Championship taking 3
rd place in the 400-meter dash. With a time of 53.56, it was the best time she has ran in her career as a Bearcat. Nearly 45 minutes later, she improved upon that result and made SBU history at the same time. In the 200-meter dash, she took 2
nd place in the Nation, narrowly missing out on a National Title. With her second-place finish, she becomes the first Bearcat ever to have 2 top-3 finishes in the same National Championship in school history. In this Championship, she claimed her second and third 1
st Team All-American awards.

Stephanique Dean made her own history with a 7
th place finish. She added two more points to the Bearcats took by running a time of 24.05 in the 200-meter dash. She came into the finals ranked 8
th, improving on that spot, she earned her first ever 1
st Team All-American award.
After an incredible indoor season from these two and the rest of the women's track and field team, they will begin their outdoor season starting next weekend at the Missouri S&T Miner Invite. The SBU home meet will take place the following weekend, March 27
th through the 29
th.
