Indianapolis, Indiana –
Collinique Farrington of the SBU women's track and field team, competed in day 1 of the NCAA Division II National Championships Thursday. She qualified for two races at the Championships, but only competed and advanced in one today.
At 4:35 local time, Farrington ran in the first heat of the 400-meter dash. She obliterated the other runners in her heat with a time of 54.07, beating her own personal best by a time of .12 seconds. After the next four heats concluded that time not only advanced her to the finals but was 3
rd best out of the other 18 runners. Finals for the 400-meter dash will be on Saturday March 15
th at 2:45 central time.
Farrington along with her partner in crime
Stephanique Dean will both compete on Friday in the 200-meter dash. The preliminaries for this race will be at 4:00pm central time. Farrington will be in the 1
st heat with Dean in the 5
th and final heat. Collinique is ranked 4
th best and Stephanique 7
th best heading into this Championship.
