Box Score Durant, OK. - The SBU Women's Tennis team finished their matches in Oklahoma today against the Savage Storm. The Bearcats lost to Southeastern Oklahoma State University 0-4 putting them 5-4 for the season.
Paula Ballesteros and
Defne Ursane started off the double matches competing as the #1 team for the Bearcats falling 3-6. Southeaster clinched the doubles point in the #3 spot played out by
Giselle Garcia and Mariz Clara Zotti losing 2-6.
Leticia Luiz and
Polina Paunova were tied in the #2 spot but didn't finish due to the point being secured by the Savage Storm.
The Bearcats continued to fight in the singles but came up short. Ballesteros started off in the #1 spot in two close matches (2-6, 4-6). Fighting for the #2 spot Ursane lost her matches (2-6,2-6). Paunova was fighting for #3 spot but saw the same score in her matches (2-6, 2-6). The #4, #5, and #6 matchups were not played due to the Savage Storm securing the win early in the match.
The Bearcats will now look forward to their first home game of the season next Saturday, March 22
nd. They will go head-to-head with the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats at 1:00pm at the John A. Bryant Tennis Center.
