Ozark, MO: The Bearcats' season record improved to 3-6 this Saturday, with a win against Hendrix College (4-1) and a loss to Lindenwood University (0-5).
Game 1: Hendrix College (W-4-1)
Lexi Schauffler and
Chandler Lawrence were neck and neck with their opponents, eventually falling to their opponents as the #1 team (19-21, 21-19, 12-15). However, the tides turned in favor of the Bearcats, with
Reagan Hoerning and
Addi Fanning defeating the Warriors as the #2 team (21-13, 23-21). The Bearcats continued to dominate the court for the rest of the match.
Carlee Lill and
Ryan Russell narrowly lost their first set but pulled through at the end, defeating their opponents as the #3 team (18-21, 21-14, 15-5). The #4 team,
Logan Drennan and
Madison Satterly fought to the brink against their opponents winning in the third set 15-12, and the #5 team,
Rory Stanley and
Kynzie Lilly, secured the final win of the game, dominating their opponents through both sets (21-6, 21-14).
Game 2: Lindenwood University (L-0-5)
The second game of the day was a tough battle against Division I Lindenwood Lions. Schauffler and Lawrence fell in a close loss as the #1 team (23-21, 21-18). The #2 team struggled against the Lions through the second set, with
Hoerning and
Fanning falling in a two-set match (21-16, 21-14). Lill and Russell came close to victory in their first set but struggled to secure a victory as the #3 team. (22-20, 21-12). The #4 fell to the Lions in both matches (21-11, 21-18). Lastly, the #5 team fell to the Lions in a two-set match. (21-17, 21-9).
The Bearcats will travel to Belton, TX next Thursday to compete against
the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at 10:00 AM,
Texas A&M University - Kingsville at noon, and
East Texas Baptist University at 4:00 PM.
