Box Score Springfield, Mo. - SBU Women's Tennis fell to the Drury University Panthers in Springfield on Sunday, 3-4 moving to 1-2 for the season.

All the double matches were close battles on Sunday.
Paula Ballesteros and
Defne Ursan were in the #1 spot and fell in a close matchup 4-6.
Leticia Luiz and
Polina Paunova also struggled in their tough match in the #2 spot losing 3-6. However the Bearcats did find success in their #3 team with
Maria Clara Zotti and
Giselle Garcia as they defeated their opponents 6-4.

There was also a lot of excitement in SBU's single matchups.
Ballesteros in the #1 spot made in incredible comeback falling in the first set then defeating her opponent in the final two sets (6-3, 7-6). The Panthers took back the momentum and found success in the #2 match defeating
Ursan (1-6, 3-6). The Bearcats bounced back in the #3 spot as
Paunova beat her opponent in three (6-4, 4-6, 6-2). It went back and forth again as the Panthers came out strong in the #4 game against
Luiz causing her to drop the match (0-6, 2-6).
Garcia came out very strong in match #5 easily overpowering her opponent in two sets (6-0, 6-4). When it was time for the #6 match, the Bearcats and Panthers were tied 3-3. After a hard battle fought by
Clara Zotti, she fell in three tough sets (2-6, 6-3, 1-6) making it 4-3 to the Panthers.

The Bearcats will hit the road and travel to Kearney, NE. to play the University of Nebraska at Kearney (#13) on Friday, February 14 at 12:00pm.
