Bolivar, Mo. – Two sprinters from the SBU women's track and field team are off to an incredible start early in the 2025 indoor season. After only four weeks of competition, both
Collinique Farrington and
Stephanique Dean have broken records and hit National marks. This has led to three straight GLVC Track Athlete of the Week awards, two for Farrington and one for Dean.
Farrington currently ranks as third in the Nation in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.85, that she earned at the Pittsburg State Invite. At that same meet, she ran a 55.34 in the 400-meter which is ranked 14
th in the Nation. Both times are the fastest in the GLVC. Back in December, she set the NCAA Division II record in the 300-meter dash with a time of 37.64. So far this season, she has also broken the SBU record in the 600-yard run.

Stephanique Dean has also had a strong start to the season earning her first GLVC athlete of the week award. In that week, she won two events in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash, each at the time were ranked top-25 in the Division II. She is currently ranked 21
st in Division II in the 200-meter dash.
Farrington, Dean, and their fellow sprinting teammates are making waves across the National rankings. In the 200-meter dash, the SBU women's track team is ranked 7
th in Division II. While also being ranked 11
th in the 400-meter and 14
th in the 60-meter. All Bearcat track and field members will continue their season Saturday, February 8
th as they head to the NWMS Bearcat Invite.
