Kirksville, Mo. — The Lady Bearcats wrapped up their third game within the first week of December with an away loss to the Truman State Bulldogs. Though SBU fought hard, they ultimately fell by a score of 55-90. The loss moves Southwest Baptist to 3-6 on the season (1-3 GLVC).
The points leader for the Bearcats was graduate student
Natalia Crooke with 14 points. Nine of Crooke's points were scored from beyond the three-point line to help her reach ninth in the GLVC in three-point field goals per game. Crooke also added three rebounds, one block, and one steal to her statline for the game. Junior
Tinu Fakunle helped Southwest Baptist outblock Truman State 5-1 with her two blocks in the game. Fakunle now sits third in the GLVC in average blocked shots per game with 1.2.
Another notable Bearcat in the game was junior
Claudia Diez Sancho who led the team in rebounds with ten. She also recorded nine points, two assists, and one block. Junior
Kamiyah Hurd put in a solid performance as well with ten points and three rebounds.
The Lady Bearcats are now set to enjoy a 12 day break before returning to action against Mission University on Thursday, December 18 at 11:00am. SBU will hope to rebound against the Patriots at home from the Meyer Sports Center.
