Bolivar, Mo. – Over 50 years and 100 games later, the epic highway 13 rivalry continues. The Drury men's and women's basketball team travels 27 miles up highway 13 for a battle on the hardwood in the Meyer Sports Center. With games starting at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Monday, December 1st, Drury & SBU basketball programs are looking to give the Panther and Bearcat faithful another entertaining edition of this rivalry.
The women's game will tip off at 5:30 p.m. as the Coach Harrell looks to take down the Panthers for the first time in two years after upsetting them at their place. The Panthers enter this game winning two out of their last three games, falling in their last to Arkansas Fort-Smith in overtime. Southwest Baptist is looking to bounce back after a loss to the Lincoln Blue Tigers Saturday as their offense struggled to get momentum. But with two 50+ point wins this season, they have shown their capability to score tons of points.
Approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the women's game the men's teams will take court. Over the past five years it has been a tight battle between the two teams with SBU winning six out of the last 10. After starting out the year 4-0, the Drury men are on a two-game losing streak falling to Concordia St. Paul and Central Missouri, during thanksgiving break. The Bearcat men on the other hand enter this game at 3-3, falling in their conference open on the road. Positive trend for SBU is they have bounced back after every loss this season, not dropping two straight.
Come support your Bearcats on Monday, December 1
st in the Meyer Center at 5:30 and 7:30.
