Topeka, Kan. - SBU men's swimming capped off a three day competition at the KC Cup Invite Thursday through Saturday. The Bearcats capped off the weekend taking 3rd place with 686 points. 
 
Sophomore Ian McCorkle made SBU history by being the first Bearcat to win two events. Saturday afternoon, he beat out 12 competitors to win the 200-yard fly event adding to his 200-yard freestyle win earlier in the year. Earlier in the week, on Thursday, McCorkle added more points to the Bearcats total with a 3rd place finish in the 500-yard freestyle. He dropped 4.25 seconds from his entry time and was only seconds away from winning the event.
 
Another strong race came from sophomore Brogan Meier who captured three top-three individual races. These were spaced across all three days of the meet, the first coming on Thursday with a 3rd place finish in the 50-yard freestyle. On Friday, in the last race of the day, Meier captured 2nd place in the 100-yard backstroke. Adding another 100-yards to the race didn't slow Meier down as he took 2nd in the 200-yard backstroke in event one of Saturday. 
 
All four SBU 'A' relay teams took top-4 in each of their races and the only constant variable in each relay was Brogan Meier. The 200-yard freestyle took 3rd place on Thursday and the 400-yard medley took 4th place. In that same style of event, the team took 4th in the 200-yard medley relay. Capping off the meet was the 400-yard freestyle that took 4th place. A full list of those relay members can be found below.
 
The team will resume action in two weeks as they head down to Drury University for another meet. This will take place on Friday, December 5th in Springfield against both Drury and William Jewell.
