Bearcats Traverse Time Zones for Final Weekend of Season

11/11/2025 1:13:00 PM

Bolivar, Mo. – The Lady Bearcats prepare to finish their season strong as they approach their final two games against the University of Indianapolis and Lewis University. They enter the long road trip fresh off a weekend where they suffered losses to Missouri S&T and Maryville.

Last week, SBU won a single set against Missouri S&T but were swept by Maryville. The bright spot, however, was senior Rory Stanley who totaled nine blocks on the weekend, including eight against Missouri S&T. Her performance against the Miners was good enough to make the top six most blocks in a single four-set game by an individual player in the GLVC this year. Stanley has also been a major reason why the Bearcats lead the GLVC in blocks with 2.34 per set. Her 100 blocks through 91 sets ranks Stanley 4th in the GLVC in blocks per set (1.10).

Freshman Gabriela Dupree also had a big weekend as she reached 300 kills on the season against Missouri S&T. She tallied 30 kills and 20 digs across both games and was rewarded with a double-double in each game. Dupree now has 327 kills through 91 sets this season, which places her 6th for kills per set in the GLVC (3.59). Dupree's 24 service aces, five solo blocks, and 40 block assists this season push her up to 5th for points per set in the conference (4.13). Senior Katie Pogue put in two stellar performances of her own as her combined 34 assists and 25 digs this weekend earned her two double-doubles as well.

The Lady Bearcats gear up to traverse time zones as they begin their final weekend with a road trip to Indianapolis to take on the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds. The game is set to begin at 5:00pm CST on Friday, November 14. The Greyhounds have a record of 18-9 overall and 8-3 in the conference. Their only three conference losses have come against the three teams above them in the standings. UIndy is coming directly off a weekend where they fell to the one-loss Rockhurst Hawks in five sets and swept the William Jewell Cardinals. Indianapolis currently has the best hitting percentage in the GLVC, and they rank in the top third of the GLVC in most statistics. The Greyhounds will prove to be a tough opponent for the Bearcats.

Coming back into the central time zone, SBU will wrap up their season with a match at Lewis University on Saturday, November 15 at 3:00pm. The Flyers are 14-12 on the season with a conference record of 5-6. Last weekend, Lewis had a Kansas City road trip of their own where they swept William Jewell but got swept by Rockhurst. Lewis currently allows the fewest blocks per set in the GLVC, which sets up an interesting matchup with the Bearcats who lead the conference in blocks per set. SBU's middle blockers will have an important role to play if they want to end their season on a win.
