Bolivar, Mo. — The SBU women's soccer team spent the weekend traveling through Indiana and Illinois as they faced the University of Indianapolis on Friday and Lewis University on Sunday.
While the team went 0-2 over the weekend, senior
Tamerra Gantt scored her seventh goal of the season during Sunday's game and set a personal best for the number of goals during a single season. Gantt stands tied for the most goals in a season from a Bearcat since 2018. With seven matches ahead of her, Gantt has many opportunities to break the tie.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Cece Alexander also set personal records this weekend. Playing her ninth and tenth games of the fall, she made 11 saves, putting her at 67 total saves for the season.
Now the Bearcats head into a big weekend at home where they host two more GLVC opponents. On Friday, they play Upper Iowa who sit at 2-6-2 overall and 0-5-1 GLVC on the season. This has them sitting at 14th in the conference, giving the Bearcats a great opportunity to earn three points.
On Sunday, their opponent Quincy University is adjacent in the GLVC standings sitting in 2nd. Their overall record of 6-1-2 and GLVC record of 5-0-1 has them at 16 points in the standings. Both games will take place at the SBU soccer field with Friday's game beginning at 4 p.m. and Sunday's at noon.
