Fayetteville, Ark. - The SBU women's cross-country team had an incredible last race before the GLVC Championships. As a team they finished in 12th place with 372 points beating out seven Division I teams and the only GLVC team in the race (Drury).
Natalie Gerdes led the way for the Bearcats with a time of 17:38.2 finishing in 39th place. Just seconds behind her was the freshman
Gracie Troester who ran a time of 17:40.1 for 41st place. Junior
Lily Hunsucker continued to add points for SBU with a 68th place finish, beating out every Drury runner. The fourth- and fifth-point placers for the Bearcats was
Olivia Littleton in 104th place and
Kiersten Potter in 120th place.
Now the Bearcats will get three weeks of rest and training before competing at the GLVC Championships, seeking their second team title. Going into the race Bearcats return the freshman of the year in Littleton, with
Gracie Troester going to make her case as another SBU freshman of the year. The race will be in Romeoville, Illinois on Saturday October 25th.
