Romeoville, Ill. — The Southwest Baptist University men's cross country team competed against 11 teams in the GLVC Championships this morning where they placed sixth overall in the Men's 8k with a score of 178. As well, the team earned the GLVC sportsmanship award for yet another season.
Several of SBU's runners finished among the top 50. Sophomore Landen Duchscherer, recipient of one of the GLVC's Runner of the Week awards this season, led the Bearcats by finishing 21st overall with a time of 25:09.25. Following closely behind, senior
Gavin Duchscherer placed 31st with a time of 25:27.98. Junior
Nolan Hansen finished in 39th place (25:43.91) and senior
Luke Urban finished in 40th place (25:45.16). Junior
Jackson Leeds rounded out SBU's scoring five with a 58th place finish (26:09.79).
Due to their performances in today's Championship, the Bearcats will travel to Kenosha, Wis. on Saturday, November 8 to compete in the NCAA Regionals. Stay tuned for updates by visiting
