Men's Soccer Seeks Two Big Road Victories

Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist Men's Soccer team is back on the road after two close match ups at home versus Upper Iowa who snuck away with the 2-1 win, and Quincy who the Bearcats tied with at one goal apiece. This home stint saw goals from Zinedine Cherik, his first of the season, and Ugo Morvan notching his second of the year.
 
Currently Bearcat senior Iker Lorenzo sits 4th in the conference with four assists on the year. That number is also tied for second in SBU history of assists in a single season, still with five games to go.
 
After nine conference games, the Bearcats have five points toward the GLVC standings which is only seven behind the 8th place spot. Now they head on the road against two teams in the bottom half of the standings with six points on their mind.
 
The Bearcats will be traveling to Kirksville, MO. this week versus Truman State (3-5-2), and Liberty, MO. against William Jewell (2-6-3). Coming into this week both teams in their last two matches have lost and tied. William Jewell's last match was a tie with Truman State. Both ball clubs sit closely ahead of the Bearcats in conference play. 
 
The Bearcats are (4-7-2) overall and (1-6-2) in GLVC play. SBU will look to steal two pivotal wins this week and extend their overall win count to 6. Kickoff on Friday In Kirksville is at 12:00 PM. Sunday's match in Liberty will be at 2:30.
