Kansas City, Mo. – The SBU women's basketball team returned to action in 2025 in a road GLVC game against the Rockhurst Hawks. The Bearcats fell to their former Division foe 59-73 moving to 4-7 (2-3 GLVC) on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bearcats got off to an early 6-3 lead
- A 12-0 run by the Hawks put the Bearcats behind nine points 6 minutes into the game
- The rim continued to stay covered for the Bearcats as they trailed 13-25 after 10
- Halfway into the 2nd Quarter Bearcats scored six unanswered points to bring the game within six
- Trailing by 13 at half, SBU didn't quit consistently bringing the deficit to within six
- With 3:46 left in the 4th quarter, Bianca Oliver made it 56-59
- 14 straight made free throws from the Hawks, put the game out of reach for SBU

- The scrappy game favored the Hawks as they had a strong 85.3% free throw percentage, making eight more FT's
