Football:
The Bearcat football team continues their home stretch this weekend as they look to extend their winning streak beginning GLVC play on Saturday. Last weekend they took down the Aggies in stellar fashion behind a near sellout crowd supporting their Bearcats to victory.
This Saturday, the Bearcats open GLVC action against the Peacocks from Upper Iowa University, kickoff scheduled for 1pm at Plaster Stadium. Last year the Bearcats fell to the conference newcomer in Fayette giving them strong motivation to get revenge. The Peacocks enter this game with an overall record of 1-2, coming off a loss to South Dakota Mines last Saturday.
Entering preseason, the Bearcats and Peacocks were picked 5
th and 7
th respectively in the league. Each entering conference play with similar records and stats it will come down to the small details to determine a winner in the conference opener. One important area to look at is the air as SBU is one of the top offensive passing teams in the conference going against one of the top passing defensive teams in the conference.
