Bolivar, Mo. – SBU Director of Athletics, Clark Sheehy, announces
Jackye Barber as the Indoor Assistant/Head Beach Volleyball coach.
"We are excited to add Jackye to our volleyball staff and to our athletic department! Jackey brings great experience, and we are super excited to welcome her and her family to Bolivar!" - Sheehy said
Barber joins the Bearcats after being the Owner and Director for the Amarillo Good Vibes Indoor and Beach Volleyball Club. She coached a total of 9 indoor teams while starting her own beach volleyball program over her two years. She had three teams compete at beach Nationals in 2023 and 2 teams compete at beach nationals in 2022.
She spent 16 years as a head coach to at least one team for indoor club volleyball, while also running private volleyball lessons and group training. During her time with the indoor club, she oversaw organizing, advertising, and running summer camps, year-round clinics, and team camps.
"I am excited to be a part of SBU, to grow in my faith and my family's faith and have that environment." Barber said, "I am super excited to come into an already good indoor and beach volleyball program. Ready to help it grow and achieve new goals."
Barber spent two seasons playing at Frank Phillips College as both a middle hitter and a libero. She moves to Bolivar with her son (Tayden), daughter (Teegan), and sister (Tacye).
